We are busy wrapping up our 2008 this December!
We have done many exciting events including the Green Bridal Show that was organizd by Chelsea Dane with bride-associates. Chelsea is a great organizer and did a terrific job on setting up the show which took place at the texasdiscoverygardens.
We loved the idea of promoting green weddings and we really work hard to leave a clean foot print in our enviorment. There are lots of non green friendly products used in the floral industry and we try to avoid them as much as we can. Here is some of what we do to help
Buy local when possible
We buy organically grown and pesticide free when it is available
We do not use floral foam unless absolutley necessary (it is loaded with hazerdous chemicals) and flowers prefer clean fresh cold water
We do not use unnecessary packaging
We do not use unnecessary printing or print material
We recycle all our plastic, glass and reusable items
We even wash and re use our plastic bags
We do not add chemicals to any floral water
We recylce our water when possible
Basically if something can be reused, we do it. If there is a new way of using a product that can make it orgainc we do it.
In the pictues below we covered a round table with a celedon green lamour cloth from bbjlinen then we layered it with fresh organic wheat grass with hidden glass blocks that supported a glass table top that then supported our floral display. After the bridal show we donated the fresh wheat grass to a creativecuisinegroup local green aspiring caterer for their use so it would not go wasted.
Wedding at The Cotton Mill in McKinney Texas
The Cotton Mill in McKinney, mckinneycottonmill is a beautiful resored histoic building in McKinney, Texas
You have to bring everything in for an event. They simply supply the beautiful canvas fo you to work with. For this bride’s wedding we used the the celedon lamour linen from www.bbjlinen.com and created a warm atmosphere by using a combination of hiboy cocktail tables, rounds and long tables that all surrounded the centered dance floor. John with At Your Service Catering, ayscatering brought in the tables, food and beverage set up and created a beautiful presentation. mydallasdj did the music and sound. We assisted the bride in pulling all her vendors together to create an atmosphere that was warm, vintage and elegant. Her flowers were vibrant summer green hydrangea, warm orange flame mini calla lily, two toned orangea and yellow Konfetti roses and graceful stems of curly willow branch. We created tall and short flower designs, some submerged and connecting by wire, others submerged and topped with floater candles.
Who’s Wedding Is It Anyway? Thats the tv show that stars Donnie Brown , event designer extrodinaire, on the Style Network.
We Were selected to do the wedding of Devon Penn and Donovan Garner at the Summit Ballroom in Plano, Texas on November 24th. The bride worked with Just For You Custom Creations (jfycreations) to design her wedding gown in white and black with elegant sworsky crystal beading. The Bride’s color plate was apple green, deep purple and black. We bridalblooms created the beautiful fresh flower elements using lavender hydrangea, rich red Classy roses, exotic green calla lily, dramatic curly willow branches, and reams of exotic black feathers. The ceremony was set against an all white curtian backdrop with our tall iron candelabra and pedestals to create a beautiful and warm colorful and candelight canvas for the wedding ceremony. The other side of the venue was set up with round tables surrounding a centered dance floor. The black poly cotton table linens were provided by duckybobs Half of the table centerpieces were created using dark purple table top candelabra accented with purple hydrangea, deep red classy roses, green phlox and rich black feathers. The remaining guest tables were designed with large round cylinder vases with submerged twisted green calla lily, ti leaf and bear grass along with lots of pillar and votive candles. The entire event was captured in photography by Louis Cayle of caylephotography The entire event of orchistrated by the infamous Donnie Brown of donniebrownweddings.
The Industry Event Of The Year - The 2008 June Social Gayla was produced and directed by pamm meyers, www.bridalblooms.com along with Shari Johns with asyouwishevents. This beautifuly orchistrated event was attended by 110 of the top wedding and event professionals in the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex. The 2008 theme for the tenth annual June Social was a spoof on the play of Tony and Tina’s wedding (www.tonylovestina.com). Havinging seen the play, which is based on a 1970’s style Italian tacky wedding with the audence as the acutal guests at the wedding, I felt it would be perfect spoof for our Gala of wedding and event pros. The 2008 June Social took place at the elegant Magnolia Hotel (www.magnoliahoteldallas.com), in downtown Dallas on June 29th. The event began with a cocktial reception in the hotel 3rd floor atrium area. Cocktail tables were covered in silver sparkle linen and candles. Wedding Cake Martini’s were the signiture drink for the cocktail hour. Entertainment was part of the original Dallas cast of the original play who mingled with the guests. The entire group of guests were lead across the street by Signed Sealed and Delivered playing horns and leading guests across Commerce Street into the Pegasus Building where the mock ceremony took place. The stage was set with flowers provided by I Love Flowers, ceremony music by Platinum Sound. Following the cereony that had everyone applauding with loud laughter the priest (part of the cast) along with Tony and Tina led the guests upstairs into the Magnolia Ballroom for the reception. The first thing that greeted guests as they entered the ballroom was the tierd wedding cake created by Romano’s Bakery (www.romanosbakery.com), then you were caught by the bright red sparkly shag table linen from www.bbjlinen.com. All white flowers and candles by I Love Flowers and the centered dance floor the peaked with the stage and band. The grand guest list included the infamous Donnie Brown www.donniebrownweddings.com The whole evening was a series of acts and dancing by the cast and guests including a mock cake cutting and table top dancing to the YMCA. The funds raised for the live auction the Salvation Army Cassa Shelter. The sponsors for the event were www.absolutedfw.com, www.ambianceentertainmentdj.com,
